Railway Send off.

The Railway employees ofHelensville station gave a farewell social last Thursday, to Mr W. Jones, acting guard, who has been transferred to the Thames. The send-off took the form of a supper at Mr J. Cain's restaurant, when a very enjoyable evening was spent.

During the proceedings the guest was presented with a goldmounted umbrella and a silvermounted fountain pen. The sta-tion-master, Mr Woodhouse, in making the presentation, voiced the good wishes of all present, Mr Jones suitably acknowledging same.
