A question addressed to Hon, Mr Ell by Mr Sidey asked the Govern* ment whether they will amend the law so as to extend the benefits of the Widow's Pensions Act (1) to women whose husbands have become insane ; (2) to cases where a child has been born out of New Zealand while the domicile of its parents remained in New Zealand, its mother having been only temporarily absent at the time of its birth; and (3) to cases where the parents of an illegitimate child have subsequently married, but the father has died without having taken the necessary steps to formally legitimise his child. Mr Ell's answei was that the Government would obtain information on the subject' with a view to taking legislative action. SCHOOL TEACHERS' TICKETS. In answer to Mr Marnier, the Minister for Railways stated that he couli not make school teachers' return tickets available from Friday afternoon till Monday morning, pointing out that teachers' tickets enabling them to attend training classes aro already granted fx'ee of charge.
