Railway Matters.

The Railway time*table alterations between Helen sville and Auckland are advertised in this issue, and we venture to say oniy a slight improvement has been made after many years waiting. For even this we have to thank the present Minister of Kailways (Hon Arthur Myers). We certainly have secured an extra train both ways—an express leaving Auckat 8,20, and leaving Helensville on the return at 8 p.m., but with the exception of the morning train which has been made 35 minutes faster, and the midday train 20 minutes, there is not much time saved. There is one thing however, if the trains are run up to time regularly, what appears only a slight improvement at present will assume a greater magnitude in that direction.
