LOCAL GOVERNMENT BILL

NORTHERN COUNTIES OBJECT'

At a meeting of delegates from Northern counties, held at Kawakawa on Erida}' night, the following resolution passed, "That this meeting of delegates from the county councils of Hokinga, Whangaroa, Bay of Islands, the Kohukohu Town Board, and Bay of Islands Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, is of opinion that the provisions of the proposed Local Government Bill are entirely unsutiatye to the circumstances and requirments of the Northern part of the Dominion, and express the hope that Parliament will not pass the bill into law, but that, if it be passed, a provision shall be included suspending the operation of the Act in the counties of Hokianga, Whangaroa, Bay of Islands and Mangonui,"
