LAND HUNGER.

The demand for land was fully demonstrated at Fielding o*a 29th inst., when Mr Ernest Short disposed of twelve sections of land (portion of the Parorangi estate), comprising 2333 acres, at prices varying from ±,10 to £28 per acre. The aggregate value of the land disposed of amounted to £40, 103 7s fid. There is keen inquiry for the remaining sections. At Timaru on the same date thore were 698 applications in tho Four Peaks estate, which was subdivided into eight leasehold grazing runs, with areas ranging from 700 acres to 3000 acres, and wore disposed of at rentals ranging from £6*l 17s Od to £439 10s.
