DEPUTATION WAITS ON THE MINISTER.
TIMETABLE ARRANGED
MORNING TRAIN SPEEDED UP
The deputation waited on the Minister of Railways on Friday morning with the resolutions arrived at by the conference. Mr Coates, M.P., in introducing the deputation, said there was a good deal of difficulty in meeting the requirements all. round. He objected to the country stations being cut out to accelerate the fast train, it would be better to cut out suburban stations. He hoped something would be done to speed up the train from the railhead.
Mr J. Stewart, submitted the resolutions arrived at by the conference.
Mr A. Harding, of Dargaville', said the proposed time-table submitted by the Railway Department would not suit the Dargaville people.
Mr Jackman and several other members of the deputation also
spoke in support of the change by the resolutions, some of the speakers being at variance on certain points, while one or two strongly objected to the cutting out of any stations'.
Mr Myers said lie would have to go very carefully into the whole matter. If there were to be fast trains, they could not stop every few chains. As to putting on extra trains on the section beyond. Ilelensville, he was quite willing to anticipate traffic where there is a possibility of an early development to warrant it. He asked the gentlemen present to confer with Mr Ronayne and Mr Bowles, and see what could be arranged.

ficials the following time-table was agreed upon: From Auckland— 7 a.m. Train will run as at present. 10.50 a.m. do. 4.40 p.m. do. From Helensville.'
