Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons ( report:— '■ ■ , On Wednesday, April 10, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market, fat cattle were'penned to the number of 319 heed. There was a slightly better demand, and on the whole ' values were firmer. Choico ox to Ll 6s, ordinary Ll 3s to Ll os; steers ranged n price from L 6 10s to Ll2 2s 6d; cows and heifers, L 4to 1:8,12s 6d ; 16 prime bullocks from Air James Tay lor, Hukerenui Estate, averaged Lll 18s -fA moderate supply of fat and young calves sold at ruling rates. Heavy calves, L 2 10s to Lo 2s ; choice suckers', Ll 15s to 'L 2 4s, lighter Ll 5s to Ll 13s, small arid light 3s to 183 (54 sold).
