ANNUAL MEETING,

The annual general meeting of the above Association was held in the Foresters' Hall on Tuesday, April 2. Mr R. Nicholls occupied the chair and there were 20 odd members present. Mr Hammond in moving the adop tion of the report and balance sheet, said it was pleasing to the members that the show had been a successful and showed a credit balance. He thought a lot was due to the efforts of Mr R. Nicholls, and would couple with the motion a vote of thanics to their retiring President.

Mr C. H. Spinley seconded the motion and eulogised the work of the President.

Mr R. Nicholls, in thanking them for their remarks, said he was pleased they had had a successful year.

President—Capt. Hammond. On leaving tlie Chair, Mr Nichclls, thanked the members of the different committees, and the ladies for their great assistance during- his terzn, He would impress on members the necessity for regularly attending all meettings as it was their duty to do Hej outlined ft number of improvements' which he thought the incoming committee could consider, amongst which were the buildiDg of a hall, which ]\q thought would be better than paving for the hire of a tent every year, and would be moro convenient; the remoring of the stock pens; renewing the fences, etc. Concluding, ho stated that the main object should be to further anything thftt tended to t]ie advancement of the farming community.

Mr Hammond, in taking the chair, thanked those present for putting- him iv the position. It had been his intention to stand out owing to press of business, but had been persuaded by the retiring president to stand. He hoped all nioinhers would assist h,im in the coming year, to make the Helensville Show the hest iv the North, 'as the more they could pusJx on the Show the better for the district,
