FAREWELL SOCIAL.
(A Correspondent.) ■ On Saturday evening a very enjoyable social and dance was tendered, in the Waimauku Hall, to Mr E. E. Hawken, who is leaving the district, he having resignedfrom the managership'of the. local ' Butter Factory, which position he has held for the last threeyears. During the time he has resided in Waimauku, he has won the esteem of all the residents by his unfailing efforts to assist in the progress of the district. A great deal of the success of the Hall is due to his valuable assistance as Honorary Secretary. Mr Watts, in presenting him with a solid silver Eose Bowl, referred, , in an appropriate speech, to the regret that would be felt at his departure, and wished him every success in the future, and in congratulating him on his approaching marriage wished him every happiness. After a suitable response, Mr Hawken was accorded ' musical honours with great spirit by the friends present.
