TENNIS.
A very interesting and enjoyable afternoons tennis was played between the Woodhill and Waimauku clubs on the W,oodhill court on Thursday last, resulting in a win for the visitors by.so games to 43. The return match will probably bo played next week, and is hopefully looked forward to by the Woodhill players who .intend to reverse the decision. The games were as follows : Mrs Frost! and Miss White v. Mrs;.' Sims and Mrs Hughes, 8 4 ■ Messrs Radford and Watts v. Messrs Roberts and Pengelly, 4—6, Mr Hawkins and Miss White v. Mr Osbaldiston and Miss Mackie, 6—5. Mr Watts and Mrs Frost v. F. Pen*9^ gelly and MrsJ. Mackie, 6—l. Mr .Radford and Mrs Frost v Mr Roberts and Mrs Hughes, 6—4. ' . . . * Hawkins and Miss Frost v. 0. Wilson and Mrs Simh, 3—6. Mr, Hawkins and Miss White v. Mr Osbaldistpn and .Mrs J Mackie. 3—6. Mr Bad ford and Miss Foster v, C. Wilson and Miss Mackie, 6 0. Messrs Radford and Brett v. Messrs Wilson and Pengelly, 6—5. / 4 Messrs-Brett and Hawkins v. Messrs Osborne and Roberts, 4—6. ! Good progress is being made with the new double court on the Woodhill Recreation Reserve; The work is being done by a band of enthusiastic tennis players assisted by some who derive their cheif enjoyment from the game by looking on.
