NEW ZEALAND BUTTER.
Regarding the prices of butter in London, a correspondent writes: " One of the points to mention is th« little pr-mium that Danish has had for some time past over New Zealand produce, a matcer of a few shillings only. In a dear rnaricet like we have had for months, th* tendency is for all descriptions of butter of the choicest gradu to approximate in price. I see by Continental reports that New>Zealand butter has sold in Berlin on a parity with Danish and Dutch. -That is an interesting and important 'fact, and one may fairly accept this piece of news as valuable confirmation of the wise system prevailing iv JXew Zealand of strict Government grading. A point iv favour of high , rates for Australasian butter duriug die 1911-12 season is the terriblG'toot-aiid-moulh scourgo prevailing in Germany, France and other continental countries. In Germany 35,000 cattle herds were affe3t«d ; and in Normaudy it is anticipated that not!2o per C3nt of. the cows Will calve, owing to the effects of the disease.—Australian Field. '
