Messrs Alfred) Buckland and Sons report:— At our weekly. Westfield fat stock market, fat cattle were penned to the number of 352 head. Competition was steady throughout at about last week's values. Choice ox to Ll 6s, ordinary LI 2s to Ll ss; cow and heifer, 19s to Ll 2s: stoers ranged in price from L 6 15s to Ll2 15s; cows knd heifers, L 4 to L 7 15s. The 63 fat and young calves sold readily. Choice heavy suckers, L 2 10s to L 3 8s smaller Ll 10s to L 2 ss, light 18s to Ll ss, small and fresh-dropped 3s to Jss. There was a heavy yarding of mutton, the greater portion being ewes, and prices for these were from Is to Is 5d below last week's rates. "Values for wethers were unaltered Choice heavy wethers, 18s to 19s 3d. heavy 16s 6dto 17s 9d, medium aDd light Us to 15s; best heavy young ewes 14s 6d to 16s 6d; heavy aged, ewes, 11s to 13s, others 9s to 10s 6d (2094 yarded). Included in the 715 lambs penned were several lines ot unfinished lots. Fat lambs are wanted; best heavy, 15s to 16s 6d, lighter 13s to 14s 6d, shorn 9s 9d to 12s, unfinished -woolly 10s to 12s, smaller 7s 6d tc 9s 6d. The Pigs yarded were all baconers and porkers of choice quality The demand continues strong, at ruling high rates. Heavy baconers L 3 15s toL4 10s; lighter baconers, L 2 15s to L 3 11s; large porkers. L 24s to L 2 13s. lighter Ll llsto L 2 2s (128 sold).
