New Zealand Loan and Mercantile ; Agency report;— : - At vVestfield Yards fat cattle were yarded in full numbers and sold at steady competition at last week's rates prime;oxen selling to 27s per 1001b, others 24s to 265; cows and heifers, 19s to 235; steers sold at from L7 to i LlO 17s 6d; cows and heifers, L 4 10s to L 7 15s ; calves showed no improvement in values. Heavy Vealera sold at from. L2 2s to L 2 15s, medium do. 30s to 375, others 155,t0 !?4s, smaller sorts 3s to 10s. Sheep were penned in very large numbers, the market showing a firmer tone. Prime wethers sold at from 15s to lys, others lla 3d to 14s; best ewes 12s 6d to 14 s, others 8s to 11s 6d;cull ewes 3s to ss. Lambs were yarded in good numbers, and sold at late rates. Best lambs sold at from Us to 12s 6d, others 3s 10s; stores 3s to 6s. Piga were brought forward in average numbers, and sold at late rates. Baconers L 2 ■ 15s to L3 ; porkers, L2 ta L2 8 : slips, Ll 5s to LI 16s.
