Messii Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— •
On Wednesday, February .14, at our weekly Westfield fat stock market beef totalled 395 heal. There was a fiim demand at fully last week's quotations. Choice ox to Ll 6s, ordinary Ll 3s 6d to Ll ss; cow' and heifer, Ll to Ll 3s. Steers ranged in price from L7 5s to Lll 17s 6d, cows and heifers L4 5s to t LB. The 61 veal yarded sold freely at advanced figures. Kunners L3 3s to L 5 Is, choice suckers Ll 16s to L 2 15s, light 18s to Ll 13s ; small and fresh dropped 3s to 15a Fat sheep formed an average entry. Compecition was much the same as last week, and values unaltered. Choice heavy wethers 18s to 19s 6d, heavy 16s 6d to 17s 9d, mediam and light 12s 9d to 16s; choice heavy young ewes 14s to 16s 3d, heavy aged ewes Us 9d to 13s, others 8s 6d. to 10s 6d( 1481 sold). A full entry oi lambs sold steadily at values which were a little easier than last week. Best J4sto 16s 9d, good 12s 6d to 13s 9d, light and unfinished 6s 6d to 10s (987 sold ). There was a fair supply of pigs, but our yardings are far be~ low requirements, andpricea are high-* er than has b6en the case for many years. Baconera L 2 los to L 3 16s, large porkers L2 6s to L 2 14s, lighter Ll 3s to L 2 4s. No stoics or weaners penned. 107 sold.
