HELENSVILLE CEMETERY.

For some considerable time Mr Jas. Stewart, Chairman of the Town Board, lias been negotiating With the natives owners of the native land adjoining the Cemetery Reserve in order to acquire this property for the purpose of enlarging the Cemetery holding. Mr Stewart has to-day received a communication from the Rev. Gittos stating that the natives have agreed to sell the land in question, and same is now being conveyed to the Helensviile Town Board as a gift, free of cost to the residents of HeJensville Jby Mr Stewart.

There still remains two acres of other land which it is desired be also acquired.

.A meeting, of Eatepayera is called for Thursday week, 18th January, to consider ways and means of cleaning up and putting in order of the new addition to the Cemetery holding, and also to discuss suggestions as to the acquiring of the remaining two' acres adjoining, which is suitable for a Reserve.

We think that ratepayers should now pvinco some interest in the laying out of the grounds.
