A meeting of the Libraiy Committee was held last evening to eonisder the work done in connection with, the building- fund, and members were appointed to make a fresh canvas of thw town. Some little excitement was caused at the Helensvillo South Railway station at midday yesterday. It appears that the 12.80 down train was shunting a truck'on to the siding, when it jumped the rails, taking a second one with it. One truck was got back after an hour's maneuvering; and the train proceeded on its jurney nearly an hour behind time.
Mr Jas. Stewart and party journey-ed-to Waiwera by motor car last week end, doing the journey in good time, Mr Stewart states that the road is in bad repair light through, presenting a very neglected appearance. This road is mostly in the YVainui Biding of the Waifcemata County Council, the only liding rejection the loan proposal which was taken Jast Wednesday.

The Taylor-Carrington Musical Comedy Company opened to a full house in the Foresters' Hall last Friday eveniug- when they put on one of their strongest' progranunes namely the f arcial and musical comedies " A lucky Irishman" and '' A Husbands Kight Out," Both were well produced and those present enjoyed an evenings mirth and music to the full. It is seldom chat playgoers in Helensvillo have the opportunity of seeing such companies as tlio Taylor*Carrington which has always proved a favourite one throughout the Dominion, and we hope they will be able to pay a return visit before long.
