POINT CHEVALIER v. HELENS-, VILLE.

A matcli between the above teams 10 a-side, was fired on the miniature range at HelensviJle on Saturday last, and resulted in a win for the local team by 14 points ; Pt. Chevalier making a total of 382, and Helensvilie. 396. The match was very interesting and remainjed in doubt until the last two had commenced firing. Pte, R. Spinley. 4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, P, (47), and Corp, W. Ross, 5, 4, 5, 3, 4, 5, o, 5, 5, 5. (46), head«d the list for the winners, while Sergt, R, Hill, 4, 5, 3, 5, 5, 5. 5, 5, 5, 6. (47), was best for the losers. The visiting team arrived by the morning train in charge of Mr Pany, (headmaster of Pt. Chevalier school) and Capt. Burton, and were met by the Home team in charge of Messrs Hill (headmaster of Helensville school) and Harvey (Te Pua school), and proceeded to the range, where no time ■was lost in making a start. During the proceedings refreshments were supplied on the giound under rho supervision oi Mrs Hill and thu officers in charge. At tli6 conclusion of the match the visitors were escorted to the Hot Springs, returningmnch refreshed aftor a batli, in time to catch the af» tornoon train hoinc. On boarding the train, the visitors expressed thanks for the manner in which they had been treated by giving three hearty j cheers for then* victors, which were returned by the Helensville team, both teams joining in cheers for Mr Hill for the trouble he had taken in arranging the match, Following are the scores :— POINT CHEVALIER.
