——♦ -The monthly meeting of the above was held at Dargaville on Thursday. The financial statement showed a debit» balance of £2352 11/7. Accounts totalling £631 10/8 were passed for payment. The Chairman's annual report showed that the overdraft was only at £3000, after spending £2000 on new works. The Council had allocated £2500 on this year out of the county fund, and £1100 out of wharfage account. In addition £2850 was spent out of Government grants. Control of Wharves.—lt was. resolved " That whereas the Dargaville Borough Council is endeavouring to get control of county wharves on the borough foreshores, the executive be instructed to wpite to the Minister of Marine informing him that the County Council is of opinion that, while the Council would be quite prepared to hand over control of all wharves to!a harbour board -were such board formed, it considers that inf the meantime all -wharves within the Hobson County, should continue to be under the control of one body. Technical Schools.—lt was resolved to contribute £60 to each of-the two technical schools (Aratapu and Dargaville), which it is proposed to erect. r
