(A Correspondent.)

A highly successful plain and fancy dress ball was held in the Woodhill Hall on Friday, the 6th inst., visitors coming from surrounding districts and Auckland.

The interior of the Hall wag gracefully adorned with nikau, Norfolk Island and r-ordyline australia palms, set with arum lilies ; the whole giving a very pleasing arboreous impression. Supper was laid in the large schoolroom and reflected credit on the ladies catering committee, the table decorations consisting of marguerite daisies and other beautiful flowers, forming an attractive and harmonious colour scheme. Among the many attractive and beautiful dresses we noticed :—
