Alfred Buckland & Sons., Sales.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons held their usual monthly stock sale at the Helensville yards on Wednesday, Oct. 4 th, The sale was one of the best they have held for some time, over 200 head of cattle being yarded and wore all disposed of with one or two exceptions, at satisfactory prices.
Springers made from L9 10s to Lll 10s for the best, others from L4 15s to LT'lOs; beef (about 20 head yarded) sold in advance of Westfield prices ; small, from L8 to L8 ss; cows and heifers from L5 10s to L7 10s; store steers. L3 15s to ~LS lTsGd; empty yearlings to 2£ year old v L3 to L3 I bs ; one pen of very choice yearling heifers made L4 1 Is. There were a few sheep yarded but were not sold, Horses were offered, one selling at Ll4.
At the Wellsford yards on Tuesday there was a good sale. 250 to 300 cattle were yarded and .sold at fair prices. 150 sheep were also sold. There were aboul 30 horses offered ; grocers' cart horses fetched Jfrom £19 10a to £23, others from £4 10s to £16 Ss. i
