Port Alberi* v. Kaiwaka.
The Kaiwaka Hockey team visited Port Albert on Saturday, Sept. 23rd, to try conclusions in a return game with.the lccal team.
From the bully, Port Albert kept the ball rolling, and by a smart rush, eluded the backs and goal-keeper and scored their first goal. Play was fast throughout the first half. The - Kaiwaka players seemed as though they could not hold their own with the local tea aj, but towards the end of the first thirty-five they made a splendid rush and scored their first goal. When tlie whistle blew for half time the scores were :-Port. Albert 6,' Kaiwaka 1. From the tully Aibertland, after a tonga struggle with the backs, succeeded in udding another goal/to their .score. Now, however, the ''Kaiwaka team went to business and tor the rest of the game were keeping the local team hard pressed. They succeeded in scoring again and again. The match resulted in a win for Port Albert by 7 goals to five. Had there been another ten minutes to play this margin might have been lessened. The gamo throughout was of a vexy friendly nature, there being a total absence of anything approachiug rough play. Mr Frank Becroft had charge of the whistle and gave general satis> faction. The visitors were entertained at tea at the Boarding house. Here the captains of both teams spoke with satisfaction at the splendid game played 7 -The referee, m a few chosen words, expressed his thanks at the manner m which both teams had re ceived his ruling. After the tea both teams repaired to the hall where a very pleasant social eveuW was spent. P
