INAUGURATION OF PRIVATE TELEPHONE SYSTEM.

What has for a long time been only talk, has now developed into reality. Sometime ago a public meeting was called to consider the Advisability of connecting the district with Telephone. A committee was set up to make arrangements, with the resuit that Port Albert and Well&foni offices are now connected. Several branch lines have been constructed by settlers, to the main line Everything is working as well as can be expected. The advantage of the telephone is self-evident to those who have them installed.
