PORT ALBERT v. HELENSVILIiE.

The above match was played on the Port Albert ground on Saturday July Bth. The Holensville team made certain of being in plenty of time arriving at Port Albert at 9 in the morning after a decidedly cold trip on the water.

The game was delayed; as is regretably not unusual in home matches, awaiting the arrival of the home team. It was considerably past 3 when play commenced. For the, first few minutes Helensville pushed th ye game hard and l^ftcSft^ike business, but play soon iflturned to the visitors 25, where it lesmained for the most part, except for loofte rushes now and then into- the hom^temtories. In the first twenty minutes Albertland scored two tries, neither being converted. The second twenty was rather of a dull order,

neither side showing any very briliian^iay. They frequently heeled the ball out, but the backs failed to make any good advantage. In the final twenty, Albertland were pushing hard and succeeded in crossing again. The try however was not converted. Towards the close of the game W, Booth kicked ths only goal for Albertland, drop kicking from ouiside the visitors 25. The game finished Albeitland 19, Helensville nil. A special features of the game was the complete absence of any sign of rough play on either side.f '

Mr A, Leg-go had charge of the whistle and ably discharged his duty as referea to the satisfaction of all. The visitors were entertained at dinner at Mrs Bennett's, an enjoyable evening being spent.
