The Confeience of Agents-General took place to-day, the subjects under discussion being the New Hebiides and New Guinea; nothing, however, was decided. Mr Stanhope" stated that nothing definite had been settled between the English and French Governments relative to the New Hebrides. He thought that May next would be too late for the Conference on Colonial Affairs, and saggested April as preferable.

The Government has decided to prosecute Mac Hugh, editor of the '•Siigo Champion," on nconnt of a speech delivered at the L*ud LeHgue meeting, inciting Irish tenants to boycotting, and to the committal of agrarian outrages.

(Received December 18, la.m.) December 17. Dillon, O'Brien, Harris, and O'Shenhy, prominent L ; ind League supporters, have been arrested at Loughrea. (Received December 18, 1 p.m) Latest. Dillon, M. O'Brien, Harris, and O'Sheehy, when arrested at Loughrea, were engaged presiding over a collection of rents. They were brought up today, and charged with obstructing the proper payment of rents. A remand was asked for, bail being accepted. The money collected by the prisoners from the tenants for the payment of rents has been seized by the police. Mac Hugh, of the "Sligo Champion," arrested and charged with inciting boycotting and agaridn outrages, is released from custody. (Received December 17, 12.40 p.m.)

General Stephenson, commander of the British forces in Egypt, has submitted the details of a scheme for the reducriou of the Army of Occupation, in accordance with the decision of the Government.

Paris, December 10,

Steffano Merlatti, a young Italian artist, has completed a fast of fifty days. He is very much emaciated, but otherwise is suffering no ill effects. (Rceeived December 16, 10.30 p.m.)

St. Petersburg, December 15

The Official Messenger to-day published an article rebuking the Russian people for their auti-Gerraan feeling, for which they manifested a common interest. It declared to connect Russia and Germany. Russia will respect the special interests of Germany, and it is assured that Germany will respect Ruasiau interests in Bulgaria. A hope is expressed that Germany's influence wil be solely directed for the maintenance of peace, which the Czar and Russian people earnestly desire. (Received December 17, 11.5 p.m.)

The Committee of the Reichstag voted an increase of the German Army on the effective peace footing to 450,000 for the term of three years, thus rejecting the demand of the GorernmeDt that it should be increased to 468,000 for seven years. (Received December 18, 1 p.m.)

It is annouueed that Germany has annexed Bouganville, Choisenee, and Isabel, Solomon groups of the Western Pacific.

Count Herbert Bismarck, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, received the Bulgarian deputation on its arrival heie, and will counsel them to accede to the demands of Russia. Vienna, December 17. The Bulgarian deputation has left this city for Berlin.

London, December 14. General Kaulbars, who has arrived at St. Petersburg, has been promoted. General Bronsart von Schellendorff, Prussian Minister of War, has refused to explain the foreign policy of that country, as he thinks it would imperil general peace.

General Boulanger, the French Minister of War, and Admiral Anne, Minister of Marine, are intent in their demand for £22,000,000 to complete the military and naval defences of France.

It is expected that the Government will proclaim the action of the Irish Land Leaguers in inciting the tenants not to pay ren's illegal, and that any members continuing such action will be cha'ged with conspiracy.
