Feilding, December 7,
At Halcombe yesterday Robert Veile committed suicide by cutting his throat while suffering from melancholy. At Fielding Mrs Boulder burst a blood vessel, and Mr Blackmore an army veteran, was thrown from his horse and dangerously injured.
Wellington, December 7
Ahui Scott arrives here to-morrow, and, with Brodie Hoare, Chairman of the Midland Railway Company, will interview the Minister of Public Works on matters connected with the contract. Subsequently Moare ami Scott will j mrney over the country traversed by the Hue.
