WESLEYAN HOME MISSIONS.

The Rev. J. Crump, of Blenheim, preached in the Wesleyan Church, Third street, on behalf of the above Fund on Sunday morning, 28th ult. On Wednesday evening also the reverend gentlemen advocated the claims of tha Mission Fund in an able and telling speech, after which a liberal collection was taken. The following extract from the Annual Report of the Mission Committee was lead by the Rev, J. fJoEking:—

The old and we'l instructed contributors to the Home Mission Fund hardly require to be reminded of the wide range and variety of the work which is included in its operations, but there are some new subscribers whom it will interest to be informed as to the specific objects to which their donations are to be appropriated. These are :

I. THE MAORI MISSION, which employs two Gnropeau and nine Maori Ministers. Reports 405 church members, with 3,467 adherents, and the expenditure in connection with which last year amounted to £960 11s Bd. 11. HELP TO THE SCANDINAVIAN CHURCHES, situated in the Wellington and Wanganui districts, was afforded last year to the extent of £9O, 111. HOME MISSION ON BEHALF OF THE COLONISTS who occupy the more sparsely populated districts of the country.—ln this work twelve missionaries are employed, and grants were voted to each of the missionaries in sums varying from £2O to £BO. IV. ASSISTANCE TO YOUNG AND FEEBLE CIRCUITS as yet unable to undertake the entire support of their own ministers.—ln this department nineteen circuits were aided by grants varying from £ls to £4O, the total expenditure being £662 10s.
