GREY-HOKITIKA RAILWAY.

The following telegram was received l»y Mr Bevan, M.H.R.. from the Minister of Public Works last night;— li I have just now wired Mr Seddon, M.H.R., in reply to further telegrams on the subject, that the question of the proposed deviation between Kapitea and Teremakan cannot be re-opened, and that the Engineer-in Chief is instructed to go on with the work. Mr Guinness, M.H.R., received the following telegram yesterday from the Minister of Public Works ;—“ I have to inform you that I have given instructions to the Engineer-in-chief to proceed with that portion of the formation of the Hokitika-Grey mouth railway which has been so long delayed pending the inquiries into the deviations which have been suggested.”
