MOUNT LYELL GOLDFIELD.
A Hobart telegram to Sydney papers says Mr Thureau reports unhesitatingly of the very great value, extent, and permanency of the Mount Lyell goldfield. It appears to him as eclipsing other similar formations in Queensland and Australia. It will take a full staff of men sixteen months to complete a dray road to the King River claims. The purchaser of the promoter’s inrest in the Mount Lyell claim is Mr John Powell, a wealthy Indian settler. Messrs. John and Frederick Henry have proceeded to Melbourne with half a ton of ore. They propose to float a company.
