(Received September 17, 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, September 17. For the Great Metropolitan Stakes, which will be run for on Tuesday next, there are 23 acceptances. The horses still left in the Derby, which takes place to-morrow are— Kingsgrove, Acme, Trident, Blairgowrie, and Kingfisb. London, September 15. The St. Leger Stakes was run to-day. The following is the result:— Ormond ... ... ... 1 St, Miri ... ... ... 2 Exmore 3 September 16. The cricket match tendered as a complimentary benefit to the Australian cricketers was played at Lords yesterday and to-day between a selected English eleven and the Australian eleven. The attendance was large and the weather splendid. The Home team went in first and compiled 319, Grace 74, being the chief scorer.

The Australians made 296; Jones, bowled, 67, and Jarvis, bowled, 64, being the most successful batsmen. The second innings of the Englishmen closed for 196 ; Abel scored 52.
