MORE ABOUT THE GREAT SCULLING SWEEPSTAKES. EASY VICTORY FOR BEACH. [special to press association.] London, August 30. Ross was leading by two lengths at Harlingbain, when he suddenly collapsed. The course was from Wandsworth to Hammersmith. Teemer’s course was from Hammersmith to Kew. and Beach’s from Kew to Hammersmith. Off Morllake, Leo purposely fouled Bench, who continued rowing, winning easily without an effort. The latest helling is 100 to 90 agst Beach, 5 to 2 agst Tee.mer, 4 to 1 agst Matterson, S to 1 agst Bubear, Perkins desires to row Matterson on Saturday. Later. The foul was awarded to Beach, who rowed in splendid form. September 3. For the final heat of the Sculling Championship, 2 to 1 is laid on Beach, Bubear got the best of the start, but
fouled Beach immediately after getting away, and although the latter’s right rowlock was injured by the foul, he managed to win easily. The course was between Wandsworth and Hammersmith. The heat between Matterson and Teemer was rowed between Hammersmith and Kew, Matterson gained the lead by a length, taking Teemer’s water, but the latter spurted, and rowed Matterson down just below Barnes. Matterson then collapsed. Later. In the final, Beach took the lead, sculling at a high pressure speed, Teenier being nowhere. Beach stopped at Mortlake, and waved his cap. The, course was from Putney to Mortlake, and the race was witnessed by an immense crowd.
