THE NO. 2 SLUDGE-CHANNEL REGULATIONS.
Regulations for tho Control and Management of the Main Tail-Race, commonly called the “ Knmara SludgeChannel No. 2,” and Registered as Main Tail-race No. 40270, dated Stli January ISBO ; and Terms and Conditions for tho Use of the said Main Tail-race, by Persons other than other the Holders, as provided by section 25 of Part 111. of Appendix D to the Minus Act, 1877, viz.— 1. From the number of registered holders (hereinafter called the Trustees) of the Main Tail-race (hereinafter called the Channel) shall be elected, in manner hereinafter provided, a Committee (hereinafter called the Committee), consisting of live persons, including a chairman, secretary, and treasurer ; but the offices of .secretary and treasurer may bo bold by tho same person. 2. There shall be an annual meeting, at which the following persons shall be entitled to bo present, viz., the trustees and any other persons who shall have obtained a right to lease of the channel. At each such annual meeting, a fresh committee and officers shall be elected from amongst the trustees, the same persons being eligible for re-election ; and tho accounts and balance-sheet of tho treasurer shall bo submitted to the meeting, and all other necessary business transacted. All casual vacancies in the Committee shall be filled up by tho Trustees. 3. Tho first annual meeting shall be j held at a time and place to be notified by tho Warden ; and subsequent annual meetings shall be called by the chairman, on some date between the 15th and the 30th of June in each year. 4. Meetings of the Trustees and of the Committee shall ho held at such times as shall have been determined by resolution or the Trustees, tmt may he called at any time by authority of the chairman, upon giving reason able notice to the members. 5. At any meeting of the Trustees, five persons, ami at any meeting of the Committee, three persons, shall form a tjin'rnm ; and the chairman, or acting acting chairman, shall have a casting as Well as a deliberate vote. G. The Trustees shall keep an account at some bank, which shall be styled “The No. 2 Sludge-channel Account,” and proper hooks of account shall be regularly kept and audited, and a balancesheet submitted to the annual meeting. AH foes and moneys received shall be paid to the said account at the bank. 7. The fee payable for the use of the channel shall be at tho rate of ten shillings per week for each man working in a claim connected with the channel ; and four hours’ use of tho channel for sluicing shall Go considered to be equivalent to one day. The rate of fees payable shall not l>o altered, except upon a resolution passed at an animal or extraordinary me tiim of the Trustees.
