Great excitement has been caused in town by the news that a well-known and highly respectable resident had been arrested last night charged with having attempted to murder his wife by adrainisteiing antimony. Thomas Hall, nephew of Sir John Hall, exPreraier of the colony, is the man accused of the crime, and Miss Margaret Houston was arrested at the same time. The prisoners will be brought before the Magistrate at one o’clock to-dav.
