[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] T>V ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPYRIGHT. VCOTORIAN DUTY ON WOOLLENS. (Received Augnct 11, 1.15 p.m.) Melbourne, August 11. Arrived, the steamship Wairarapa, from the Biulf.
In the Legislative Assembly this morning, at three o’clock, the Government proposals to increase the duty on woollens to 20 per cent., instead of 25 per cent, as demanded by the Opposition, were carried by 46 to 23.
