Guardian remarks:—“ Great though the expectations of the audience no doubt were, they could hardly have been prepared for such a thoroughly enjoyable and amusing performance. The vocal items were excellently rendered, more especially Mr H. P. Cogill’s exquisite ballad * Stick to your Mother, Tim !’ Most of the members of the Company are possessed of good voices and are very strong in rich tenors. The quartette is sweet and full of feeling and expression. The comic songs of the end men, Messrs Gilmore and C. W. Cogill are very funny, while their antics and conversation were really absurdly droll. The Brothers Cogill in their specialities are really good indeed • in fact, it may safely be said that no two individual performers have come to the colonies for many years in any degree their equal. Their grotesque dancing, cortortions, and tumbling ridiculous business, and sparkling dialogue, besides having the novelty of being funny and new, are perfectly free from the slightest vulgarism. It is impossible to describe their performance ; it must be seen to be realised.”
