[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ELECTIONS TO THE BRITISH PARLIAMENT. FATAL RIOTS AT BELFAST BETWEEN CATHOLICS AND ORANGEMEN. GRAND NAVAL REVIEW. (Received July 15, 1.15 a.m.) London, July 14. The latest election returns give the state of parties as follows :—Conservatives, 296; Unionists, 70; Gladstoneites, 163; Parnellites, 79. Conservative candidates have secured Liberal seats for the Torquay Division of Devonshire, and the Walthamstow Division of Essex. Serious riots have occurred at Belfast between Catholics and Orangemen, and many persons were wounded in the disturbances. (Received July 15,12.15 p.m.) Evening, In the disturbances yesterday at Belfast, two policemen and two rioters were killed, and twelve rioters were wounded. The grand naval review which is being organised in honour of the colonial visitors takes place positively on Friday, 23rd inst. San Francisco, July 12. The steamship Alameda, from Auckland June 12, arrived here at 4 a.m. yesterday. [special to press association. I London, July 7. An impression prevails that the Prince of Wales will visit the Australian colonies in November, 1887. ' July 9. The French Government have resumed their contract with the Messngeries-Maritime Steamship Company. The Paris Press are much incensed at Loid Rosebery's inquiring the date on which the French troops will evacuate the New Hebrides. The Marquis of Hartington has expressed an opinion that it is necessary to allow Ireland a more extensive scheme of local government than England. July 10. The Duke of Cambridge has privately inspected the New South Wales Court at the Exhibition. The French Press are opposing the proposed cession of Rapa Island. The despatch of Sir Graham Berry to Lord Rosebery, re the New Hebrides, follows on the same lines us that of Sir Andrew Chirkfi, who was Acting AgentGeneral for Victoria. Lord Roseliery replies that he is doing his utmost in the matter. The Australian shooting team, in practice, ate -shooting above the average of the team that won theKolapore Cup last year. The death is announced of the minister of the Bloomsbury Baptist Chapel, London. July 11. The result of the elections show that in En-land 95 Gladstoneites, 1 Parnellite, 265 Conservatives, and 44 Unionists have b< j en elected. In Scotland, 38 Gladstoneites, 8 Conservatives, and 13 Unionists have been returned. In Wales, 17 Gladstoneites, 4 Conservatives, and 3 Uuionists. Jn Ireland, 12 Conservatives and 2 Unionists have gained seats. Mr G. O. Trevelyan whs defeated by 30 votes, Mr Joseph Arch by 20 Mr T. Flea ley by 138 votes. Mr Gladstone, in reviewing the e'ections, staled that Wales and Scotland had seen their duty towards Ireland quickly, but that England had yet to learn hers slowly and painfully. M. do Lesseps has abandoned the proposal to issue lottery bonds for the purpose of carrying on the Panama Canal. Other bonds will, however, be issued for ihe amount originally proposed.
