Notts, commenced at Nottingham today. The County was represented by Atwell, Daft, Flowers, Gunn, Lockwood, Scotton, Selby, Shaklock, A. Shaw, Serrin, and Shrewsbury. The weather was fine and the attendance good. An excellent wicket was pitched. The Home team went first to the wickets and were all disposed of for 197, towards which Shrewsbury contributed 72, caught; Daft, bowled, 42. The Australians commenced their first innings, and at the conclusion of the day’s play had put together 22 runs with the loss of three wickets. (Received July 10, 3 p.m.) July 9. The cricket match Australians v. Nottingham was resumed to-day. There was fine weather and a good attendance, great interest being taken in the game. The wicket was rather humpy. The visitors, with 22 runs for three wickets down, continued their first innings, which closed for 175 runs, 22 behind the Englishmen. The highest individual scorers were Palmer caught, 59; Giffen, bowled, 34; Bonnor, bowled, 40 The bowling of the Home team was dead on the wicket. At the close of the day’s play the Notts men had scored 71, with two wickets down. Shrewsbury contributed 28, bowled. (Received July 12, 1,25 p.m.) July 10. The cricket match Australians v. Notts was resumed and concluded at Nottingham to-day. The weather and the attendance was good, and the wicket in better older than on the previous day. The Home team continued their second innings, which closed for 157, of which Scotton made 45 before he was caught. The Australians who required 180 runs to win, went in for their second innings, and when the stumps were drawn had lost four wickets for 122 runs. The principal scorers were Jones, caught, 40 ; Scott, caught and bowled, 35 ; Giffen, not out, 24. The game waa declared drawu,
