SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Kumara School Committee was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening; pre. sent—Mr F. Barrowman (in the chair), Messrs Campbell (Hon. Sec), Munro, Jatnieson, Hanna, and Voysey. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of, and the inward read and received, and considered. In reply to a letter from Mr Fitzgerald, Christclmrch road, it was resolved that he be informed that the Central Board has granted the Committee the sum of £5 For this year, payable in quarterly sums of 255, for general purposes in connection with the Rangit-iri School, out of which amount the Committee have resolved to pay Miss Kelly 15a per quarter for wood and cleaning of the school. The tender of Mr L. J. Spyer for firewood was accepted, Mr Jovrgassy having declined to take tip his tender. Of eight applications received for the office of caretaker of the Kumara State School, that of Mrs D. Evans, being the lowest, 8s 6d per week, was accepted. The Visiting Committee reported haying visits] the Kunv.ra and Rangiriri Schools, and found everything aa t? 8 - f.ictory. '
