LATEST FROM KIMBERLEY.
Conflicting accounts continue to be published regarding the Kimberley goldfields. The correspondent of the Sydney Morning Herald, at Derby, writes to the effect that he strongly advises people not to come, and says he can positively assure them that the whole field has not produced 900 ounces <>f gold. An Adelaide telegram, on the cmtrary, says that the latest reports from Derby state that another man has arrived from the diggings with 150 ounces of gold. It is believed that the diggers are withholding as much gold is possible for the purpose of preventing a rn«b. On Saturday thirty-three passengers left Syduey for the field, and yesterday three more steamers were to leave. The Wukatipu, which arrived at Sydney on Sunday, brought 100 passengers from New Zealand for Kimberley. Mr C. D. Price, son of the late Mr Matthew Price, who was one of the best-known resident magistrates and »oldfield wardens iti New ZHaland, has been appointed Resident Warden for the Kimberley goldfields.
