—♦ [united press association.] Dunedix, June 9. News has been received that Egmont, the defaulting secretary of Adelaide Building Society, has been sentenced to six years. Waipawa, June 8. spectioji of the spot and found what he believees to be a seam of coal 2ft. thick, and it is believed that this is on fire. If his conjectures are correct, the coal seam shonld be exteusive. A uumber of men are leaving this district for Kimberley. They are mostly possessed of a little means.
