[REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph— Copyright. >-~< GERMANY AND THE POSTAL UNION CHARGES. NOTICE OF GREECE'S INTENTION TO DISARM. (Received June 2,2 a.m.) London, June 1. In the House of Commons last night, Mr H. H. Fowler, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, stated in reply to a questiou that he was not aware that Germany had made arrangements to charge 2|d for the postage of letters to Australia. Mr Fowler added that he had reason to believe that the colonies belonging to the Postal Union objected to any reduction in the rate of postage. (Received June 2, 1 p.m.) Evening. A fresh difficulty has arisen between Turkey and Greece, the latter country persisting in retaining possession and fortifying the heights of Mount Zysos, which position will dominate the town of Metzovo, in Albania. (Received June 2,2 a.m.) Athens, June 1. The Greek Government has notified the European Powers its intention to disarm, and has urged the withdrawal of tho blockade from Greek ports.
