In reply to the wishes of several correspondent, we give analyes of the voting at the late meetings of householders for the election of a School Committee for the Kumara School District. The voting at the meeting on the 27th ult., was, on a petition to the Education Board by Messrs H. Munro and W. S. Hanna (defeated candidates in the first election—the first seven being chosen) declared to be informal, by reason of more voting papers being collected in than the scrutineers could account for giving out, and was as follows :

Total number of formal votes being 896 which, being divided by 7, gives the number of voters as 128. There were eight informal votes. A fresh election was ordered by the Board to be held on Friday last, 7thinst., when Messrs R. J. Seddon, A. C. Campbell, F. Barrowman, W. S. Hanna, J. Jamicson, G. Yoysey, and H. Munro were elected. The following is an analysis of the voting at the second and final election, the first seven being declared the Committee for the ensuing year.

Total number of formal votes 918 It may be necessary to explain to the uninitiated in school election matters that each householder present is entitled to as many votes as there are committee-men required, which is seven, and can allot them as he pleases up to that number ; consequently, to arrive at the totals opposite each name the numbers opposite the name must be multiplied by the seven, six, &c, at the head of the column, and the products added together give the sums total.

The first meeting of the newly-elected School Committee will be held in the Town Hall this evening, at 8 o'clock.
