Dunedin, April 7. Dewar, Postmaster at Queenstown, and the party in search of him and the shepherd with him returned to Queens town this afternoon. Dewar and shepherd were detained by floods and bad weather while attempting to make their way to Martin's Bay, overland. They took to the ranges where Keith, the shepherd, was taken ill. They were found on the 2nd by Constable Young, Dewar having taken up a position on the track where no one could pass without seeing him. Two of the party remained witli Keith, who will he taken on in easy stages to Martin's Bay, he being still ill. Christchurch, April 7. A man named Harry Fenwick, while driving from Kaiapoi to Maori Bay yesterday night, was upset in u ditch, the cart falling on top of him, and breaking his leg. He was unable to extricate himself, and lny in the ditch exposed to a heavy rain from six last night till eight this morning, when some Maoris found him. He was removed to the hospital, where he lies in a dangerous condition.
Later. JFenwick has since died from the injuries he received. Auckland, April 7. At the inquest on Arthur Hemmett, a verdict of dev.th from natural causes was returned. There is no foundation ?or the allegations that death was caused by exposure or starvation. Councillor W. J. Connolly died suddenly at his residence today, it is believed from the bursting of a blood vessel.
Wellington, April 7. The Aovangi, which leaves for London to-morrow, bus already booked 250 passengers.
A coat has been washed ashore with several papers addressed P. J. M'Vane, and these are supposed to be connected wiih the body of a young man found floating in the harbor on Sunday.
