(Received March 22, 1 a.m.) Sydney, March 20. Mr E. B. Holt, local manager of the Pitt-slveet Branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been missing since Thursday last. Arrived, to-day, the steamship Hauroto, from New Zealand. (Received March 22, 11.50 a.m.) March 22. It has been ascertained that Mr Holt’s departure from Sydney is due to private reasons, and that the affairs of the bank are all quite correct. (Received March 22, 2.25 p.m.) Melbourne, March 22. At the instance of the Hon. Mr Gillies, Premier of Victoria, the Governments of all the Australasian colonies hare telegraphed to their respective Agents-Geueral requesting them to take joint action io urging the Imperial Government to prevent the annexation of New Hebrides by France. Hobart, March 22. The typhoid patients have been 'andecl from H.M.S. Diamond and are now progressing favourably towards convalesence. The vessel has been released from quarantine.
