The Waihora is now alongside the wharf discharging her cargo, which turns out generally in fair order, bin little being damaged. The vessel will be docked to-morrow, when the extent of the damage she has sustained will be ascertained. The horses which she bad on board have arrived here safely. (Received February 23, 1.30 a.m.) Later. The prisoners charged with the Collingwood bank robbery were tried today at the Criminal Sessions. Beale, who was the leading spirit in the attempt, was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment, while his accomplices, Murray and Hopkins, received six years’ each. The other piisoners were acquitted by the jury. (Received February 23, 1.15 p.m.) Sydney, February 23. Sir Patrick Jennings is encountering considerable difficulties in the formation of a Ministry, and has not yet been able to submit the names of his colleagues to his Excellency the Governor, COOKTOWN, February 23. Nothing has yet been beard of the twelve persons who have been missing since the boat accident on the 15th inst., and it is considered certain that they have all perished. (Received February 23, 1.30 a.m.) Adelaide, February 22. The Mossagerios Maritimes Yana arrived this morning. She brings Mauritius advices to the sth inst. Under that date Messrs Ireland, Fraser and Co. report;—“The sugar harvest operations are nearly finished. The months’ engagements for New Zealand are;—Auckland, 600 tons and Wellington GOO tons. Freights to Australia, d.j.s to 19s per ton; ditto to New Zealand, 255. Exchange, GO da vs, bank credits, New Zealand, 8 per cent; ditto, Australia, 8£ per cent. Stocks of sugar—49,ooo tons; exports to New Zealand, this season, 5000 tons.
