FORMATION OF NEW MINISTRY FOR NEW SOUTH WALES. ADELAIDE PRODUCE MARKET. (Received February 19, 2 p.m.) Melbourne, February 19. A destructive fire broke out last night in the extensive timber yards belonging to Messrs C. S. Ross and Co. Damage to the extent of £15,000 was done before the flames could be subdued. It is believed that the loss is fully covered by insurance, but the particulars are not available. The gas works, which are immediately adjoining the timber yards, were at one time in great danger of destruction, but fortunately the progress of the fire in that direction was eventually checked. Lafcpr. The total loss by fire at Messrs Ross and Co.'s timber yard to-day is estimated at £IO,OOO. To what extent this is covered by insurance is not yet known. Mr John James will relieve Mr Dow of the portfolio of Mines. The Southern Cross arrived this afternoon .with the Waihora's passengers, and reports all well. (Received February 20, 1.50 p.m.) February 20. The latest news with regard to the Waihora states that she is resting on a rock which is right through her forecompartments. If fine weather continues though she will be got off, and she is accordingly being lightened by the removal of her cargo from the forehold. There is no danger at present of her breaking up. (Received February 19, 10.30 p.m.) Sydney, February 19. His Excellency Lord Carington has sent for Sir Patrick Jennings, and has charged him with the formation of a new Ministry. The Legislative Assembly met to-day aod adjourned until Tuesday next, in order to give Sir Patrick Jennings time to form a new Government. It is considered probable he will endeavour to form a Coalition Ministry. The Union Company's steamship Manapouri sailed for Auckland last night.
