The Kumara Times. Published Every Evening. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1886.
The Rev. G. E. Mason, one of the two clergymen purposing to hold a Mission in Kumara, arrived by'coach last evening from Hokitika, and held the Introductory Service of the Mission at Holy Trinity Church, at 8 p.m. The reverend gentleman took for his text, "Come unto Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest ;" with two following last verses of the 11th chapter of St. Matthew's Gospel. He preached an impressive sermon, and was listened to attentively throughout. A Holy Communion service was held this morning at 7 o'clock, and will be administered again to-morrow morniug at the same hour. Service will be held again this evening, at 8 o'clock.
The Assessment Court for the revision of the local Valuation List for the Borough of Kumara will be held at the Court House, to-morrow, at 10 a.m. W. J. M'Uroy and Co., Main street, Kumara, beg to announce that they arc purchasers of gold.—[Advt.] Moral Tukvitojig. —Blame attaches to a jury of intollgcnt men when they condemn a man for crime whose moral nature lias been perverted by indigestion, diseased liver and kidneys.
