KUMARA HOSPITAL.

The ordinary meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Town Hall last evening • present—Messrs Voysey, Burger, Ziegler, W. Morris, Hope, Wildridge, Wooldridge, and Hannah. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. On application being received, the sum of £1 was voted to Mrs Agnes Hunt, for assistance rendered at the Hospital some months ago.

The Wardsman’s report for the month of December was read and received. It showed that during the calendar month the total number of in-door patients medically treated was seven, of which four had been discharged cured or relieved, and one died. Andrew 0 Donnell and Patrick Rooney were discharged relieved; Andrew O’Donnell (readmitted) and William Ames were discharged cured ; William Ryan died; and John S. Matson and John Stewart remained in the Hospital on the 31st. The Secretary submitted the following diaft of a petition to his Excellency the Governor for the incorporation of the Knmara Hospital ns a “separate institution ” under the terms of the “Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885 ”;— To his Excellency Sir William F. Drummond Jervois, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c. May it please your Excellency— We, the undersigned, being the members of the Committee of the Knmara Hospital, do respectfully petition that you will cause the institution known as ohe Knmara Hospital, now under our management, and situated in the Borough of Knmara, in the County of Westland, to become incorporated as a separate institution under the terms of the “Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885. And your petitioners will ever pray, &c. The petition was signed by the members of Committee present. Mr Ziegler was elected on the House Committee, vice Mr Rudkin, who retired by rotation. Accounts to the amount of £45 13 a 6d were passed for payment. Tenders for six months’ supplies were opened and dealt with, the following being accepted : Firewood.—J. Stone, £1 6s. Bread.—J. Woods, 6d. Meat.—M. Murphy, 3ld. Milk.—J. White and OT Curtain both tendered at 4d per quart.—On bein" drawn for by lot, J. White became the successful tenderer. Groceries and Wines and Spirits.— Mr W. J. M‘Hroy s was the only tender, and was accepted. Receipts were handed in amounting to £56 6s, as follow By Mr Burner £2 10s; Mr W. Morris, £6 ; Mr Wooldridge, £1 10s ; Mr Yoysey, £5 ; Mr Rudkin, £3 15s; by Messrs ZieMer and Morris, £37 11s. ° This concluded the business of the meeting.
