The Kumara Times Published Every Evening. TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 1886.

The entertainment given at the Adelphi TJie;itre hist night by tlie Dilhnan's Towu Dramatic Club in aid of the Catholic Church fund must be pronounced a great success. The attendance of the public was large, the gallery and front seats being well lilled ; and the performance may be said to be one of the best dramatic representations which lias over been put on the stage by our local amateurs. The piece chosen was the sensational four-act domestic drama " The Colleen Bawn," and the manner in which the various characters were played reflected the highest credit on all those who took part in it. The Catholic Crass Band played through the town to the Theatre, and assisted during the evening in keeping up the good spirits of the audience, who were not slow to recognise the individual and collective efforts of the performers. Miss N. Hannan, who presided at the pianoforte, and Mr Conlau, who played the violin, should also come in for meeds of praise. The result will doubtless be a very handsome addition to the Bazaar proceedings, which,

we are informed, had reached on Thursday to something like £l2O. The monthly meeting of the School Committee was held at the Town Hall last evening. A report will be given tomorrow. A meeting of the Hospital Defence Committee will be held in the Town Hall this evening at half-past seven o'clock sharp. The usual monthly meeting of the Hospital Committee will be held at the Town Hall this evening, at eight o'clock. Tenders for supplies to the Kumara Hospital close at six o'clock this evening. The tenders for the simply and delivery of black birch piles for Messrs Hungerford and M'Kay, Greymouth, close on Thursday next.
