THE COLORADO MINSTRELS.
One of the best entertainments we have seen Kumara was given by the above talented troupe last Saturday night to a good house. The perform ance started with the ordinary semicircle, but instead of the usual darkies their places were filled by five nicely dressed ladies, the "Johnson" being Miss Amy Vaughan, who acquitted herself particularly well in that important position, while the corner men, Messrs J. Norton and R. W. Devereux, were very droll as Bones and Tainbo reapedively. The chair songs by the ladies, the Misses Vere, Montrose, Courtayne, and Lindsey, were beautifully rendered and charmed the audience. The Gist part concluded with the grand fioale " Hurry Little Childten," which pleased the audience vastly. The second part commenced with a pianoforte solo, ably played by Miss Louise Howarde. Miss Amy Vaughan took the house by storm in her songs and dance?, while Miss Constance Vere secured an imperative encore for her beautiful rendering of " Love's request." The Norton Brothers' silver shoe and acrobatic dances proved them to be the best song and dance artistes we have seeu ou the Coast. Miss Eva Courtayne sang "Golden Love" in a most creditable manner, while Mr R. Devereux' fairly brought down the house with his funny songs and sayings. A duett, "The Two Cousins," by the Misses Vere and Lindsay was loudly encored. The farces " Yon Don't Say So" and " Thompson's Dead" were well and ably played, and added much to the great success scored by the troupe j indeed during«the last-named farce the I audience were convulsed with laughter, and went home thoroughly satisfied with the efforts of the clever Colorado Minstrels. To-night there will be an entire change of programme, and we would advise all who enjoy novelty, a good minstrel performance, and a hearty luujjb, to see the Colorado Minstrels at the Theatre Royal to-night. To-monow night will be the last night, when a complimentary benefit will be tendered to Miss Amy Vaughan, the popular " Johnson " of the troupe.
