VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

The monthly meeting of the Volunteer Fiie Brigade was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening last ; present—Captain Burger, Foremen Anderson, C. Martha, F. Smith ; Firemen Ziegler, Valentine, Stevenson, Hannah, Schulstad, M'Mahon, Adamson, Close, Gebhardt, Howe, and M. Gerraghty (Hon. Sec). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of. The inward correspondence was read and received, and considered. Captain Burger was appointed delegate to represent the Brigade at the conference to be held at Napier next year; the Secretary to inform the New Zealand Fire Brigades Association of the fact. The Secretary announced that there was a credit balance of £25 17s 7d, The sum of £1 Is was passed for payment. The Foreman Engine Company reported all gear under his charge in good order. The Foreman Hood and Ladder Company reported all gear in his charge in good working order, with the exception of the pole of carriage not having been repaired. It was resolved that five tunics be ordered for the team that are going to Napier, at the lowest possible price they could be got for. The Secretary was. instructed to write to the Kumara Catholic Brass Band asking them if they could make it convenient to march in procession on New Year’s Eve. Receipts to Members Fund, 12s.
